Job purpose
The role encompasses, but is not limited to:
- Planning and executing Test Cases across multiple platforms, partners and devices
- Reporting defects and other issues, using bug management software, and monitoring them from entry through to resolution
- Adapting testing to different project and business requirements
- Assisting with the management of site content files and network partner configuration files
Position accountabilities
Testing:
- Ensuring technical specifications are complete, including operational and reporting requirements
- Implementation of Java-based integration modules with third-parties
- Communicating in a professional manner with internal staff and external providers both nationally and internationally
- Alpha-testing of new features
- Identifying bugs and implementing solutions in a timely manner
- Monitoring and maintenance of the solutions
Bug/Enhancement Tracking:
- Web 2.0 development - XHTML, advanced JavaScript, AJAX, XML, XStream, JSON
- WAP development – XHTML-MP, WURFL
- Java (J2SE), Tomcat or similar, MySQ
Content & Configuration QA:
- Assist with the management of copy files to support internationalisation of the services
- Assist with the setup of product configurations across territories, networks and marketing partners
Person Specification
Knowledge/skills/experience:
- Degree-level qualification and minimum 3 years commercial experience in software testing
- Familiarity with web/mobile technologies and development environments e.g. Java, HTML, CSS, AJAX, XML, SQL, iOS, Android, Eclipse IDE
- Understanding of iterative/agile development methodology
- Experience with bug/enhancement tracking tools
- Flexibility in balancing defect priorities against broader team and business objectives
- Experience in mobile or telecoms in a high volume environment
- Experience testing on mobile handsets and emulators
- Experience managing testing throughout the software development lifecycle e.g. development testing, unit testing, API testing, performance testing, system testing, regression testing
- Experience in administrating QA metrics, such as defect profiles and performance to entry/exit criteria for test cases
- QA tester certification desirable
- High level written English, other languages a bonus

- Ability to work with all cross company departments to achieve common goals
